Roberto Requejo is Co-founder and Design Director at Imaginary Objects.

Before starting IO, Roberto was Senior Architect at Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), an award-winning international practice with offices worldwide.

Previously, Roberto worked on the Shanghai Cruise Ship Terminal for Francis Repas Architecture and most notably on the Vanke Center Horizontal Skyscraper for Steven Holl Architects, which he followed during Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documentation. He joined the OMA in 2009 to work on the Taipei Performing Arts Center from SD to CD.

At OMA he led several Competitions and Schematic Design phases for projects that include Master Plans, High-rises, Community and Cultural Facilities. He was responsible for OMA’s winning entry for the Prince Bay Master Plan in Shenzhen.

Roberto periodically teaches at Chulalongkorn’s International Program in Design and Architecture (INDA) in Bangkok, has taught studio at the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and is now Lecturer at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Faculty of Architecture. He holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) and a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University’s School of Architecture Art and Planning. Roberto is an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects.
