Olaf Barski (born 1956) completed his studies in design at the University of Fine Arts (Hochschule für bildende Künste) in Hamburg, majoring in Industrial Design with Prof. Peter Raacke in 1986. Before he opened his own office in Frankfurt am Main in 1991, he worked as a product designer at Airbus Industries, Rowenta and Philips.

Barski Design is an interdisciplinary, award-winning design office, located in Frankfurt Main, Germany. Owner-managed, innovative and straightforward.

For over 25 years now, Barski Design has been delivering innovative design solutions in the fields of consumer goods, especially home appliances, medical and health care, consumer electronics, sanitary, transportation as well as packaging and street furniture.

Barski Design' work is based on the transfer of interbranch design know-how: Thanks to the intelligent interfacing of human, sociocultural and technological requirements we create sophisticated products that secure our clients long-lasting commercial success. All in pursuit of a single goal — People focused design.

Barski Design's clients are renowned companies such as Alape, Beurer, Blanco, Bosch Home, Draeger Medical, German Railway, German Telecom, Hailo, Melitta, Sanofi, Schwarzkopf and WMF.

The products are successful commercially and culturally, and have received over 50 international design awards like iF Design, Red Dot, German Design Award, and Good Design Award throughout the world for their outstanding design quality.

Besides his commitment as a design jury member and as a guest lecturer at several universities of design, Olaf Barski is a speaker at international design conferences like Business of Design Week, Hong Kong, and BDCI, Shenzhen and an active member of the German Design Council, DDC (German Designer Club), aed (Architecture, Engineering, Design) and iF (International Forum Design).
