Design Pier is proud to produce DESIGNART TOKYO‘s main event at the beautiful « World » building in Aoyama.
The exhibition joins the “1% for Art” campaign and encourage society to support the development of art and design in Japan and in partner countries. (this is a system to allot 1% of the public construction budget towards public art installations in order to promote culture). It is is also an attractive opportunity for creators to do large installations and works that they can’t usually do.
Design Pier presents a selection of highly creative design objects and collectible design furniture by the most progressive design studios from the Asian continent.
Besides proposing a platform to raise new production opportunities for designers and nurturing the development of the creative culture in Asia, the exhibition opens a dialogue that reflects on the changes in international design, provoked by an alternative design thinking that originates in Asia.

DESIGNART TOKYO
Held each autumn DESIGNART TOKYO is one of Japan’s largest art & design festivals that brings interior design, art, fashion, and food together from all over the world across genres, transforming the entire city of Tokyo into a museum.
The aim is to energize the creative industry by sparking people’s passion for craft. In addition to large-scale installations and unique works of art and design, visitors are able to purchase items from exhibitors, thus stimulating the creative economy in Tokyo.
