“Designers in Residence” 2020 in Pforzheim

Since 2016, the town of Pforzheim in Germany invites together with Pforzheim University and the Design Center Baden-Württemberg international designers to Pforzheim as part of its scholarship program. The call for entries for the residency in 2020 is now open.

“Designers in Residence” is directed towards young designers in the areas of jewelry, fashion, accessory and industrial design. The scholarship invites three designers for a three month working phase at the EMMA Creative Center. The scholarship holders will have access to fully equipped workshop and coworking workplaces in the EMMA Creative Center which is the central platform for creative people in Pforzheim. Additionally, they will receive financial support and free accommodation. The results of the scholarship will be presented in an exhibition at the EMMA Creative Center and in co-operation with the Design Center Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart.

The decision of the scholarship holders will be made by a jury. The jury members are Sam Tho Doung (Jewelry designer, Pforzheim), Stefan Lippert (UP Designstudio, Stuttgart) and Bettina Weiss (Adidas, Herzogenaurach).

The period of residence in Pforzheim is from April 1 to June 30, 2020. The deadline of applications is Thursday, November 15th, 2019.
